The first day of Agrilevante, the agricultural technology exhibition that kicked off this morning at the Bari fairgrounds and wrapping up on Sunday evening, was indeed a positive one. The event attracted a large crowd and featured an extensive program of meetings between representatives of the Italian manufacturers' federation FederUnacoma, which organized the event, and delegations of ministers and government representatives from numerous countries, including Azerbaijan, the Republic of Congo, Ghana, Montenegro, and Senegal. The schedule of business-to-business meetings dedicated to foreign economic operators from 35 countries, organized in collaboration with the ICE Agency also began today. The four-day event will feature numerous technical conferences, sponsored by universities, research and innovation institutions, and specialized publishing houses. This morning, a conference was held, sponsored by ASL Bari and Puglia Salute, on the topic of "Emerging and Re-emerging diseases: Old and New Issues. The Return of the Blue Tongue”; while the Universities of Bari and Foggia, ARA Puglia and the Puglia Region organized the meeting entitled “Final Event: Local Breeds of Apulia: A Wealth of Biodiversity, Culture and a Sustainable Future”. In the afternoon, the University of Basilicata hosted a meeting on the topic of Digital Twins, while INAIL addressed the topic of workplace safety with a conference entitled "INAIL's Activities for Risk Reduction in the Agricultural Sector". The scientific dissemination program promoted by CREA—the Council for Agricultural Research and Agricultural Economic Analysis—was extremely active, with six meetings on the first day covering technical topics, from precision systems for viticulture and livestock farming to advanced experiences in cereal cultivation and forecasts for future agriculture. Climate change, viticulture, and renewable energy are just some of the topics that will be addressed over the next few days, while politically relevant insights will be in focus tomorrow, when the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, will pay a visit to Agrilevante.
