Agrimach India, a Gateway to Southeast Asia
As part of the agricultural machinery exhibition currently underway in New Delhi, ICE and FederUnacoma have promoted a series of business-to-business meetings. A winning formula that characterizes all events under the EIMA brand.
India represents a highly promising market for Italian agricultural machinery manufacturers, as well as a platform for reaching Southeast Asian markets, where agriculture is developing and the demand for technology is growing.
Within the framework of EIMA Agrimach — the agricultural machinery exhibition taking place in New Delhi — the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the Federation of Italian Manufacturers, FederUnacoma, have organized a schedule of business-to-business meetings with delegations of operators from the Indian subcontinent, as well as from Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Southeast Asia includes densely populated countries that will play a key role in the global economy in the coming years. Indonesia is close to reaching 300 million inhabitants, the Philippines 120 million, Vietnam has surpassed 100 million, and Thailand exceeds 70 million, with significant population growth rates throughout the ASEAN area.
Yesterday and today, the operators selected by ICE met with the Italian companies participating in the exhibition to identify technologies of interest and initiate commercial relations across various product categories — from soil-tilling equipment to haymaking machinery, from irrigation systems to components and applied electronics. The business-to-business meeting format is highly effective and well-established, FederUnacoma explains, and has always been an added value of the Federation’s exhibition events, including not only EIMA Agrimach India but also EIMA International in Bologna and Agrilevante by EIMA held in Bari.
The latest FederUnacoma press releases
The FederUnacoma annual meeting, held yesterday afternoon in Varignana (BO), included on its agenda the election of some of the Federation’s representative bodies.
in Bologna from Tuesday, November 10, through Saturday, November 14, were presented during the FederUnacoma general assembly. Applications to participate have reached record levels, and the quality of the exhibits is very high. The Maserati Area is being utilized for the first time, expanding the boundaries of the exhibition grounds. More than 60,000 models of machinery and technologies are estimated to be on display. General Manager Simona Rapastella stated: “EIMA brings together much of the technical, economic, and relationship-building work carried out by the Federation, all aimed at fostering cooperation among countries.”
The resilience of the domestic market offsets the decline in exports, driving the production of the Italian agromachinery industry, which closes out 2025 with a total value of 14.3 billion euros (+2.1%). Looking at the various production sectors, growth is seen in components, spare parts, and tractor parts, as well as in gardening machinery and equipment; conversely, sales of tractors and other agricultural machinery are down. The decline in exports, due primarily to U.S. tariff policies, does not compromise the trade surplus.
Global tractor sales rose in the first four months of the year, reaching 512,000 units. The sector’s performance was driven by India, which continues to set record pace. Traditional markets showed mixed results: the U.S., Canada, and Brazil slowed, Europe held steady, and Turkey saw a sharp decline. A key factor is the stability of the agreement between the United States and Iran.
